Weaving Point Limited

Weaving Point is a Tanzanian company that produces uniquely hand woven textile clothes, home accessories and up-cycling products. All products are made of natural fibers and cotton, most of which is locally sourced. These natural fibers are worked entirely by hand to create unique, durable, high quality with attention to detail products that stand out because of their craftsmanship.

How Products are made

All our products are made by hand, warping, threading, loom tying up of cords and pedaling on traditional looms and are sold in various places in the country

Caring of each other:

All products are handmade with people we care. However, we create positive employment opportunities for Tanzanians especially women.

Innovation:

Weaving is an antique craft in Tanzania; however we adopt traditional technologies to new fibers and products. We still use traditional while adjusting to contemporary testes of the global market.

Sustainability:

Weaving is an antique however we support and train artisans to apply their skills to modern and fresh designs.

As the world stresses on environmental pollution due to use of plastic bags and other un-recycled materials, Weaving Point aims to spearhead the use of quality woven bags with materials which can easily be disposed

Mission & Vision

Our target is to see most; if not all home accessories are made from materials that can easily be disposed, to further protect environment.

We also aim to ensure that local and even foreigners coming to Tanzania feel at home by using products which are truly made in the country with locally sourced materials.

Comfort Shangali Kenneth, is a Tanzanian who founded Weaving Point, a company where he works as an Operations Manager since 2016. She has a passion of preserving and celebrating the rich weaving tradition of the country while at the same time desiring to create respectful and ethical work opportunities for marginalized numerous locals.
