Weaving Point Limited

Weaving Point is a women entrepreneurship firm operating in Tanzania. It commenced in 2017, and has been sponsoring young girls to acquire artisan skills and later employs them upon graduating. These employed young graduates from our training workshop, produces uniquely woven handmade textile clothes and home accessories using cotton, most of which is locally sourced. The woven clothes and other home accessories are so unique in design, durable and of high quality. Nevertheless, Weaving Point has set up a fund to educate other young girls, committing 2% of each sold product for girls’ sponsorship. We therefore, encourage customers to buy our products to enable us support more young girls attain their goals of being financially stable. Thanking you in advance for your cooperation.

How Products are made

All our products are made by hand, warping, threading, loom tying up of cords and pedaling on traditional looms and are sold in various places in the country

All products are handmade with people we care. However, we create positive employment opportunities for Tanzanians especially women.

Innovation:

Weaving is an antique craft in Tanzania; however we adopt traditional technologies to new fibers and products. We still use traditional while adjusting to contemporary testes of the global market.

Weaving is an antique however we support and train artisans to apply their skills to modern and fresh designs.

Comfort Shangali Kenneth, is a Tanzanian who founded Weaving Point, a company where he works as an Operations Manager since 2016. She has a passion of preserving and celebrating the rich weaving tradition of the country while at the same time desiring to create respectful and ethical work opportunities for marginalized numerous locals.
